I am Waffles and my journey to finding a safe, loving home has been quite an adventure. I was rescued from the Glyfada area, where I lived with two of my closest friends, Romeo and Heidi. We were just three cats trying to survive on the streets, but things took a scary turn when a wild dog attacked Romeo.

The attack was terrible, and Romeo was left with severe injuries. The dog cut part of his spine, leaving him without movement in his back legs, no tail, and incontinent. It was heartbreaking to see our friend go through such pain. The people who found us knew they had to act fast to keep Heidi and me safe, so we were immediately removed from the area and brought to the shelter.

Now, here I am, hoping to find my forever families. Romeo received special care because of his injuries, but we’re all safe now, and that’s what matters most. Even though my start in life was tough, I’m looking forward to a brighter future with a family who will love and care for me. I’m ready to leave those hard times behind and find a place where I can finally feel at home!

I’m a special kitty with a shy yet sweet personality, and I’m looking for a forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and understood. Here’s a bit about me: I’m a bit of an introvert when it comes to other cats. I like to keep to myself and I’m not too fond of sharing my space with other felines. You might hear me hiss if another cat gets too close, but that’s just me setting my boundaries. While I’m still figuring out how to interact with other cats, I’m incredibly affectionate with people, including children. Once I get to know you, I’ll warm your heart with my gentle nature and love for pets along my body.

When I meet new people, I can be a little shy at first. I may need some time to adjust to new surroundings, and I’ll appreciate a quiet space to retreat to when things feel overwhelming. My favorite hiding spots are under the bed or tucked away in a cozy cat tree, where I can feel secure. Loud noises and unexpected movements make me nervous, so I’d do best in a calm and peaceful environment.

Playtime is still something I’m learning to enjoy. I’m a bit unsure of how to play with toys or other cats, but with a bit of patience and encouragement, I’m slowly coming out of my shell. I haven’t found a favorite toy yet, but I’m working on it! What I do know is that I enjoy spending my days lounging on the balcony or snuggled up in a cat house, where I can watch the world go by.

I’m not particularly food-motivated, and I don’t have a strong preference when it comes to what I eat. However, I’ll be sure to let you know when I’m in the mood for attention by rubbing my face into the floor – my adorable way of asking for some love! I prefer the lower levels of cat trees to scratch and relax, and I’m not one to climb too high.

​

One of the cutest things about me is that I’m quite chatty. Once I feel comfortable, I love to talk and will have little “conversations” with you, adding an extra layer of charm to my already endearing personality.

​
