Hi, I’m Tsitsika! My lifelong companion, Nini, and I were brought to the shelter under some pretty heartbreaking circumstances. Our beloved human mom had to move into elderly care, and sadly, her family declined  to take us in. But even though it was tough at first, I have adjusted well to my new environment, and now I am on the lookout for my new forever home!

I’m an independent and affectionate cat, but I like things on my own terms. I love being petted, especially on my head and chin, but I’m not a fan of being touched on my back or butt. At night, I’ll snuggle up beside you, but please don’t pick me up or hold me—it's just not my style. I’m happiest in a home where I’m the only cat, as I don’t enjoy having other cats near me. I like my space!

I can be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I warm up and become a loving companion. I might hide when new people are around, but once I feel safe, I’ll rub against you and purr. I prefer a quiet environment, so I’d do best in a home with older children, as loud noises and sudden movements can startle me. You’ll often find me lounging on the bed or hanging out on a cat tree by the door, patiently waiting for pets or attention.

I can be a bit territorial when it comes to other cats, and I’ll let you know if I’m uncomfortable by walking away, or maybe even hissing or swatting if I really don’t like something. Most of the day, I’m laid-back, but when it’s feeding time, I become more vocal and animated—I’ll clearly tell you when I need food or attention! I’m also quite curious, so while I’m cautious around new people, I’m interested in meeting them.

I prefer a mix of wet and dry food, and I’m a big fan of treats! However, I do have a hepatic diet, so my food intake needs to be carefully watched. If you’re looking for a sweet, independent companion who knows what she likes, I think we could be a great match!
