Hi, I’m Sophie – Could You Be My Forever Family? I’m a sweet and gentle girl, born in 2020, and I arrived at the shelter on August 21, 2024, after a really brave journey. One day, I found myself outside the LBS shelter, feeling scared, hungry, and thirsty. Thankfully, with a lot of patience and care from the kind people here, I started to trust them, and now I’m ready to find a loving home where I can continue to blossom.

When I first got here, I was given a full check-up by the vet, and I passed all my tests with flying colors! I’m negative for Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Leishmania, Babesia, Brucella, Parvo, Corona, and Giardia. One thing I do need regularly is hydrating baths because my skin can get a little dry, but I don’t mind—it helps me feel great!

My personality is a little shy when I meet new people, but once I feel safe, I become very active and playful. I love hanging out with other dogs, and I’m already good friends with Buddy and Harmony at the shelter. The only thing you’ll need to watch out for is my food—I can get a bit possessive, so feeding me separately is a good idea.

When it comes to people, I’m really affectionate. I might be timid at first, but I warm up quickly. I love being petted and will wag my tail and give kisses to show how much I care. I’ve bonded really well with the volunteers here, and I just love being around them.

​

I’m working on my leash skills and getting better every day, though I do get excited and might bark or jump when I’m really happy. I’d love to live in an active home where I can get plenty of attention and playtime because when I’m left alone for too long, I tend to get bored.

​

Speaking of play, I absolutely love running, playing tug with rope toys, and chasing after balls! I’m happiest when I’m outside in a fenced yard where I can run freely and safely. I can get a little scared by loud noises or sudden movements, so I’d prefer a calm environment. And if I can’t see my favorite people, I might feel nervous, but a little reassurance helps me feel better quickly.
