Hi there, I’m Mochi, the fluff ball (no, the fluff ball)—and I’ve got a story that’s as unique as my big personality! Let me tell you how I went from a tiny, scrappy island kitten to the sweet, confident snugglebug you see today.

I was born on a beautiful Greek island called Sifnos on April 1, 2024. Sounds idyllic, right? But island life wasn’t all sunshine and sea breezes for me. Being the smallest kitten around, I had a tough time. The bigger cats made sure I was the last in line at meal times, and I’d often watch the food disappear before I got a chance. Pretty rough, huh?

Then one day, some kind humans noticed me. They started leaving food for me at dawn—5 a.m. sharp—so I could eat without anyone pushing me aside. At first, I wasn’t sure if I could trust them, but they were patient and kind. I couldn’t resist creeping closer, and before long, I was hanging outside their room, soaking up all the love and pets I could get. It felt so good to finally be cared for.

Life threw me a curveball when I lost my sister. It was heartbreaking, but I kept going, holding onto the kindness those humans showed me. When the hotel I was living near closed for the season, my humans didn’t just say goodbye—they packed me up and brought me with them! It was like I’d been given a second chance at life, and I even enjoyed the carrier ride. I knew I was headed for something better.

Fast forward to November, and I’ve arrived at the shelter thanks to my wonderful rescuer named Amalia. Let me tell you, I made myself right at home here. Everyone is so nice, and there are endless hands to pet me and snacks to munch on. I’m not shy, not even a little. The minute I see a new face, I’m all “Hi! Hello! Over here! Pet me!” I’ll meow, rub against your legs, and purr like a motorboat to make sure you realize I’m the cat of your dreams.

Oh, and let’s talk favorites: butt scratches are at the top of the list, right up there with head rubs and long naps in cozy spots (especially my hexagonal perch). I’m pretty chill most of the time, but don’t let that fool you—I’m all about people. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, lap time, or just hanging out nearby, I’ll be your little shadow. And if you have snacks? Even better!

They say I’m “sweet and confident,” which I think is a fancy way of saying I’m awesome. I get along with everyone, including kids, and I promise to greet you at the door every single time. After all, what’s life without a little Mochi love?
