Hi, I’m Maverick! I used to live on the streets, watching people from the safety of trees and only coming down when I felt it was safe. I was scared and unsure, but one day, I was finally rescued and brought to the shelter, where I’ve been learning to trust and feel safe.

At first, I can be shy, especially in new environments or around new people. Loud noises and sudden movements make me nervous, and if someone approaches me from above, I might get scared. But with patience and kindness, I warm up. Once I know you, I’ll come to you for affection, leaning my head into your hand for gentle pets—especially on my head, chin, and back. I don’t like being picked up, and I prefer to come to you when I feel comfortable, but I’ll always be nearby, watching everything that’s going on.

I love other cats! I’m friends with everyone, but my best friend in the world is Petey. We do everything together—playing, cuddling, even calling out to each other when we’re apart. I would do best in a multi-cat home, especially if my new family already has another friendly cat.

I have a mix of laid-back and playful energy. I love napping on cozy high-up spots like cat trees, sofas, or even the pillow on top of the closet. But when there’s something interesting happening—especially at feeding time—I’m the first one there to check it out! I love playing with cat sticks, climbing, and chasing laser pointers.

I’m fully healthy, neutered, and vaccinated. I prefer wet food but will eat both wet and dry. I don’t have any special medical needs, just a loving home that will give me the patience and space I need to feel safe.
