Hi, I’m Lafayette! I’m a playful and energetic dog, and I absolutely love being around people. When I meet new folks, I might be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly and show my affection with a wagging tail and a big smile. I love being petted, especially on my back and head—those are my favorite spots! I think I could make some new friends and get along but with the right companions.

I’m pretty good on a leash, so walks are fun for me and for whoever is walking with me! I’m also fine being left alone, which makes me pretty adaptable in different situations. My favorite things to do are playing with balls and running around, especially in the mornings and evenings when I have the most energy. I’m generally quiet, but I’m curious too, always checking out new places with a bit of caution.

Here’s my story: A kind tourist saw me in poor condition near their hotel in the Peloponnese and reached out to a foreign rescue organization for help. That’s when the people who take care of me now got involved. They posted about me on a local rescue site, and a volunteer came forward to help. When they came to get me, they found my best friend at the time, Napoleon, too, and decided to rescue us both! Thanks to some amazing volunteers, we made it safely to Athens, where we were given the care we needed. Now, I am hoping to find a forever loving home.
