Hi there! I’m Frisco, and I’ve been told I’m as sweet and mellow as they come. My story is a little rough, but it’s one of hope. I was born on August 10, 2021, and lived near a taverna in Ierapetra, Crete. One day, I was hit by a car, and my jaw was shattered. For over a year, it went untreated, but my luck changed when a kind vet spotted me at the taverna. They caught me and performed four surgeries to fix my jaw. After healing at another rescue center, a volunteer brought me to Athens to find a loving forever home. That’s where I hope you come in!

Despite my past, I’m a super easygoing and lovable cat. My jaw is a little quirky—it stays slightly open—but I can eat wet and dry food just fine. Wet food is my favorite, though, especially Purina Gourmet, Schesir, and meat tube treats like "Churu." I love lounging on soft beds or climbing up to high perches like the wooden shelves on the balcony at the sanctuary.

I’m very affectionate and enjoy being petted all over, especially on my face—just be gentle around my jaw. I purr loudly when my face is scratched, I am super easy going, docile and content. I’m not too fond of being picked up, but I’ll happily curl up beside you for some quiet time. I’m a pretty quiet guy myself, with a soft meow that you’ll probably only hear when I’m in a carrier. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle me, but I’m calm and adapt well when I feel safe.

I’ve lived with a lot of other cats before—over 40 of them! I was friendly and got along with them, but after all that action, I think I’d enjoy a quieter home now. I’d be happy as your one-and-only or with other calm companions. I do need a little time to warm up to new people, so I might hide at first, but once I get to know you, I’ll show you my sweet and cuddly side. I’m also great with older kids (8+), as long as they’re gentle and patient with me.

I am FIV positive, but don’t let that worry you! My calm and friendly nature make me a perfect companion, and FIV-positive cats can live long, happy lives with proper care. Since I get along so well with others and I am not territorial or aggressive, I am a great fit for a loving home.
