Amy (05/2023), Female
My journey began when I was found during a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program by a kind animal welfare organization. I was weak, sick, and feeling lost—no one in the area had ever seen me before. Since I didn’t have a microchip, the nice people who found me took me straight to the vet for treatment.
After a few days of medical care, I moved into a temporary foster home where I slowly regained my strength. With each passing day, I was feeling better and better, and I am so grateful to be safe indoors, away from the tough life on the streets. Now, a few weeks later, here I am at the LBS shelter looking for my forever family!
I’m a gentle and affectionate kitty, and I absolutely love being around people. I’m very friendly with both adults and kids, and I’m always excited to meet new faces. I like to greet people with a gentle rub of my neck and head. Unlike some other cats, I’m not shy or timid—I’m approachable and I love getting attention. Though I adore human company, I’m also an independent girl who enjoys having my own space. I get along with other cats, but I prefer to keep my distance. I really enjoy playtime, especially with my favorite string toy, but I usually prefer playing alone rather than with other cats.
I adapt quickly to new surroundings, though I do appreciate having a cozy hiding spot where I can retreat to feel safe. Loud noises and sudden movements don’t scare me too much, but I do prefer to stay out of the way when things get too hectic.
When it comes to rest, I’m all about comfort. You’ll often find me napping on the bed or snuggled up in one of my many cat beds. I’m not particularly food motivated, but I enjoy my meals and I’m not picky about what I eat.
Cuddling is one of my favorite things in the world. I love having my neck scratched, and I’ll nudge you gently to ask for more. I’m very affectionate, and I like to show it by rubbing my neck and head on you, seeking out the comfort of your touch.
I’m also a fan of scratching posts, though I prefer to lounge and scratch on the lower levels of cat houses. I would thrive in a home where I can receive plenty of love and attention from my human companions. I’d be happy as the only cat or in a home with other cats, as long as I have my own space. If you’re looking for a kitty who is both independent and deeply affectionate, I think we’d make the perfect match.
I’ve shown incredible resilience and gratitude for the care I’ve received, and I’m ready to share my love with a forever family. If you’re ready to offer me the loving home I deserve, please contact the shelter today. I can’t wait to meet you!
Amy was adopted locally and she went to her forever home in October 2024.
